Relation with God

Once a man stood in the middle of the road.
His head looked up to the sky.
His eyes were filled with tears,
As he continuously stared at one spot
And repeated "Oh God", from time to time.

A man passed him by,
Looked at the man who stared at the sky,
And curiously stood behind him.
He looked up at the same spot in the sky,
And wondered what vision of God the man saw.

When another man passed the two men
Who looked up in the sky,
He too joined in the line,
And stared and wondered,
As to what is it these two men were able to see.
To him the clouds above seemed
To be shaped like Lord Shiva Himself.
"Maybe this is a Darshan of the Lord", he thought.
Soon there was a big line of men
Staring up at the sky.

Finally one man who passed looked at the queue,
And asked the last man as to what he saw.
He said he was not sure,
So he asked the man in front.
This went on until the first man
Who was still staring up was asked,
"What is it, Sir, that you are able to envision?"
The man with tears in his eyes replied,
"My neck is terribly strained,
And I am unable to move."

All of a sudden the queue dispersed
And the men moved on disappointed.
Do not try to experience Me through another.
You will always face disappointments.
I come to each one of you directly.

Do not believe or develop faith
By experiencing others' faith in God.
Come and experience Me directly.

Can a child from the third standard
Teach a child in the second standard?
No ! He will be able to answer
Only some of his questions.

He himself is in school waiting to get his degree.
You must be taught directly by the teacher.
The teacher himself is qualified
And has gone through
All these levels to be able to teach.

So find and dig your own path to Me.
If you depend upon others faith,
And if that person loses faith in Me,
It will automatically affect your faith in Me.
So approach your Guru directly.

Do not be influenced
By others' faiths and experiences.
To Me, each and every one of you are special,
And My relationship with each one of you
Is a unique and endearing one.

Enseigne à tous ceux qui veulent Me connaître.

The secret

A woman named Vicki once knew a young person at church named Susan. Susan always seemed effervescent and happy, although Vicki knew she had faced struggles in her life. Her long-awaited marriage had quickly ended in divorce.

She had struggled to get a grip on her single life. She hadn't chosen it, but she decided she would live it with utmost enjoyment and satisfaction.

Susan was active in Sunday school, in the choir, as a leader of the junior high girls' group, and in the church renewal movement.

Vicki enjoyed knowing Susan. Susan's whole face seemed to smile.
One day Vicki asked Susan, 'How is it that you are always so happy, you have so much energy, and you never seem to get down?' With her eyes smiling, Susan said, 'I know the Secret!'
'What secret is that, what are you talking about?' Vicki asked.

Susan replied, 'I'll tell you all about it, but you have to promise to share the Secret with others.'
Vicki agreed, 'Okay, now what is it?'

The Secret is this: 'I have learned there is little I can do in my life that will make me truly happy. I must depend on God to make me happy and meet my needs.
When a need arises in my life, I have to trust God to supply according to HIS riches.
I have learned most of the time I don't need half of what I think I do. HE has never let me down.' Since I learned that Secret I am happy.

Vicki's first thought was, that's too simple! But upon reflecting over her own life she recalled how she thought a bigger house would make her happy. But it didn't! She thought a better paying job would make her happy..But it hadn't.

When did she realise her greatest happiness? Sitting on the floor with her grandchildren, playing games, eating pizza or reading a story, a simple gift from God. Susan knew the Secret, Vicki learned the Secret, and now we know it too!

We cannot depend on people to make us happy. Only GOD in His wisdom can do that. Trust HIM!

Physical Judgement

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco.

"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favour to ask. I have a friend I'd like to bring home with me." "Sure," they replied, "We'd love to meet him."

"There's something you should know," the son continued, "he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mind and lost an arm and a leg.
He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us."

"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."
"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."
"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can't let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."

At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing more from him.

A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told.
The police believed it was a suicide.

The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn't know, their son had only one arm and one leg.

The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable.
We would rather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are.

Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.

Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say a little prayer that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are, and to help us all be more understanding of those who are different from us!!!

HOLDING ON.........

The cheerful little girl with bouncy golden curls was almost five.
Waiting with her mother at the checkout stand, she saw them, a circle of glistening white pearls in a pink foil box.

'Oh please, Mommy. Can I have them? Please, Mommy, please?'
Quickly the mother checked the back of the little foil box and then looked back into the pleading blue eyes of her little girl's upturned face. 'A dollar ninety-five. That's almost $2.00. If you really want them, I'll think of some extra chores for you and in no time you can save enough money to buy them for yourself. Your birthday's only a week away and you might get another crisp dollar bill from Grandma.'

As soon as Jenny got home, she emptied her penny bank and counted out 17 pennies. After dinner, she did more than her share of chores and she went to the neighbour and asked Mrs. McJames if she could pick dandelions for ten cents.

On her birthday, Grandma did give her another new dollar bill and at last she had enough money to buy the necklace.

Jenny loved her pearls. They made her feel dressed up and grown up. She wore them everywhere, Sunday school, kindergarten, even to bed. The only time she took them off was when she went swimming or had a bubble bath. Mother said if they got wet, they might turn her neck green.

Jenny had a very loving daddy and every night when she was ready for bed, he would stop whatever he was doing and come upstairs to read her a story. On night as he finished the story, he asked Jenny:
'Do you love me?'
'Oh yes, daddy. You know that I love you.'
'Then give me your pearls.'
'Oh, daddy, not my pearls. But you can have Princess, the white horse from my collection, the one with the pink tail. Remember, daddy? The one you gave me. She's my very favourite.'
'That's okay, Honey, daddy loves you. Good night.' And he brushed her cheek with a kiss.

About a week later, after the story time, Jenny's daddy asked again, 'Do you love me?'
'Daddy, you know I love you.'
'Then give me your pearls.'
'Oh Daddy, not my pearls. But you can have my baby doll. The brand new one I got for my birthday. She is beautiful and you can have the yellow blanket that matches her sleeper.'
'That's okay. Sleep well. God bless you, little one. Daddy loves you.' And as always, he brushed her cheek with a gentle kiss.

A few nights later when her daddy came in, Jenny was sitting on her bed with her legs crossed Indian-style. As he came close, he noticed her chin was trembling and one silent tear rolled down her cheek.
'What is it, Jenny? What's the matter?'
Jenny didn't say anything but lifted her little hand up to her daddy. And when she opened it, there was her little pearl necklace. With a little quiver, she finally said, 'Here, daddy, this is for you.'
With tears gathering in his own eyes, Jenny's daddy reached out with one hand to take the dime-store necklace, and with the other hand he reached into his pocket and pulled out a blue velvet case with a strand of genuine pearls and gave them to Jenny. He had them all the time. He was just waiting for her to give up the dime-store stuff so he could give her the genuine treasure.

God is waiting for us to give up the cheap things in our lives so that he can give us beautiful treasures.

Isn't He wonderful? Are we holding onto things that He wants us to let go of?
Are we holding on to harmful or unnecessary habits and activities that we have come so attached to that it seems impossible to let go?
Sometimes it is so hard to see what is in the other hand but we must believe in this one thing..............

God will NEVER take away something without giving us something better in its place.
The greatest gifts happen when we share love and touch others' hearts!

Thought for the day

ycoeur17.gif
